Handwoven on a simple backstrap loom in the village of Bobonaro using a combination of commercial thread and dyes and handspun cotton central ikat panel. Purchased in the Dili Tais Market post referendum 2002. The women of East Timor are seeking to rebuild their dignity and country using the tradition of hand weaving. Through these threads the strengths of the Timorese people echo the pride of the past into the future.
