M1101 – Once again displaying typically Timorese ingenuity the artist of these 2 effective busts, that stand alone, has used his medium material to its most advantageous. Traditional motif work balances well on the 2-tone bamboo. Indigenous repairs to the bamboo.

I had no idea at the time that I had stumbled upon an Aladdin’s cave of authentic traditional tribal textiles and treasures.
