M1103 – This large contemporary mask was hand carved and will polish up beautifully with some teak or boiled linseed oil. This will deepen the red to a rich burgundy.
Hand carved in the highlands of West Timor from red cedarwood / kayu merah. The artist has left the timber to speak for itself. Flat.

I had no idea at the time that I had stumbled upon an Aladdin’s cave of authentic traditional tribal textiles and treasures.
